To earn from YouTube, you need at least 4000 watch hours in the past year and at least 1000 subscribers on your channel. YouTube Royalties:

What are YouTube Royalties?
What are YouTube Royalties?
There is another concept of royalty payments in YouTube. Royalties are the payments made to the rights holders. The rights holders are the songwriters, composers of the songs or videos, recording artists, and the other people or the company or recording label involved in the releasing of that video or the music video to be exact. We often see ads whenever we open YouTube. These ads fall into these royalties categories. These ads have 45-55% shareholdings between YouTube and the person uploading it. YouTube keeps 45% of the profit and the rest of the 55% belongs to the person who uploads the video or to the artist.

There are two ways that you can get your royalties:

  • By the master recording: The actual audio file of your song can get you royalties, and,
  • By the composition: The underlying music or the lyrics in the videos also gets you royalties.

Most record labels and distributors only get royalty payments. That too is for the master recording and not for the composition. For the composition royalties, you need someone to monetize your composition. And later, get paid on your behalf. Visit the official You Tube help platform to learn more about Youtube royalties

How much YouTube pays per stream?

How much YouTube pay?
Methods for payment by YouTube

Well, it is not any different than that of Spotify (as I have mentioned the Spotify payment in one of my earlier works). Each stream does get you money but the amount is very low. YouTube pays 0.001$ – 0.003$ per stream or watches time of your video. And this payment is also affected by the fact that someone has watched the full video or left it in between. So in this case, YouTube pays 0.10-0.04$ when there are 1000 views on the video.

Methods for payment by YouTube:

Every platform has its own privacy policy. And following that they have their payment policies too. There are several methods you can request YouTube to pay once it is monetized. You can get your payment in the form of:
  1. Checks
  2. Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT)
  3. EFT via Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA)
  4. Wire transfer
  5. The best-considered payment method is the Adsense Payment method. It is not a new method yet new content creators struggle to make an Adsense account to this date. Although YouTube provides the information for making an account. But there still can be confusion for the new users. In this type of payment method, you can get the payment directly into your bank account. Google sends all your earnings in US Dollars or in Euros. It depends on the currency you’re linking your account with.

Conclusion:

YouTube is no doubt a very useful platform to showcase your abilities and yes it helps you to grow more. But, it can be time taking and the user needs to be very patient during the process. When you have a strong subscription base you can use this platform for proper earning. Despite this, anything does not make YouTube any less important in our lives!
